What are the advantages of waterless offset compared to wet offset?
Higher printing quality
Less dot gain Through the high water share during the wet-offset printing process, the ink is easily absorbed by the paper. The capilar floating effect of the paper enlarges the dot size and reproduces an unprecise dot shape. Even on plastic surfaces there is a higher dot gain in wet offset through the emulsion of water and ink.
Higher colour saturation / higher colour density
Better contrast
Sharp reproduction of image by better registration accuracy
Improved colour consistency
Reduced production costs / Higher production output
Reduced waste of sheets / cards by setting up the offset press
Shorter make-ready time of the press
Easier adjustment of colour density without water-ink balance control
No dampening solvent necessary
Less cleaning time of ink fountain and rollers by using UV-inks
No need of rubber protection fluid for offset plates after printing
Environmental aspect
No use of hazardous alcohol and aciditive dampening solvent
