Which press modifications are necessary to be able to print waterless on my conventional wet offset machine?
Rubber roller set must be changed to special material which resists the waterless inks (shore 40-48°, EPDM).
• Plate cooling system must be installed, either by chilled air blowers or chilled water cooled plate cylinder and/or vibration roller.
• Form rollers must be adjusted according to waterless plate´s requirements (First form roller approx. 5mm contact stripe onto the printing plate, all following form rollers approx. 10% less than the corresponding form roller before).
• The blanket quality must be suitable for waterless ink´s and should not swell.
