Is it possible to laminate sheets printed in UV waterless offset?
Laminating on top of waterless inks is possible and frequently done in the printing industry. Nevertheless, it is necessary to consider that inks have to be approved before. Inks, offered by MICTOM have passed lamination tests successfully ( ...see our product list ) but the lamination results depend on several parameters except the ink. Therefore we recommend to test the inks with regard to lamination quality. It is fact that, the higher the silicone share is in the ink, the more difficult the lamination process will be.
Another possibility is to print a transparent adhesion agent on top of the colours prior to lamination.
